Overview | Discover
The National Museum of Australia is based in Canberra, with a brand identity that was built by Generation Alliance in 2001. The concept of this proposed refresh is to enhance the Museum as a space at the heart of a conversation: to showcase it as a place that can listen to and support different and equal voices.

Approach | Do
In designing the core of the new identity, I identified elements of the existing identity and extended them: the linework acting as a speech bubble and the teal colour that exists across the identity. Being a place of discovery and conversation, I duplicated the line to reflect how conversations involve at least two personalities.
As for colour, I split the original teal into blue and green. Blue represents Lake Burley Griffin, and green represents the land. Together, they form a common element, that being the Museum itself.
Outcome | Deliver
The complete identity is designed to work across various touchpoints. The two conversation marks act as a frame, centering a wide variety of elements.
