Overview
As the Junior Councillor for AGDA Victoria, I am responsible for designing the event identity and coordinating the annual Folio Review, which is held in November. The event is run individually by each state, allowing them to create their own identity.
Challenge
The challenge was to create a unified and unique identity for the event and ensure that it was promoted to engage with both students/emerging designers and industry designers to ensure that people were given the opportunity to seek guidance and advice on their design folios.

Approach
To ensure the success of the event, I reached out directly to industry connections and studios, providing them with details about the event. Additionally, I promoted the event through Instagram and LinkedIn.

Once the reviewers and the individuals being reviewed were finalised, I carefully reviewed the portfolios submitted. I identified the styles of work that the reviewers created to establish complementary matchups.
I then emailed the reviewers with details about the individuals they would be reviewing, which allowed them to schedule interviews at their convenience. This approach was similar to the 2022 review, in which I participated as a person being reviewed.
Outcome
The 2023 event resulted in 25 successful review matchups. To ensure the events ran smoothly, I kept in contact with people being reviewed and reviewers, ensuring that all involved would have their questions answered in a timely manner.

The 2024 event was run as a speed networking event at RMIT, with 30 attendees. Each student was given the opportunity to present their folio to industry professionals for feedback and advice.
